Crowley Associates is experiencing significant growth, and we are investing in our future. We currently have four employment opportunities. We are looking for a Field Sales Engineer for each of the following territories: New England upstate New York Philadelphia and Midlantic. We are also looking to add a Product Line Manager who will be located in our Amherst, NH office. Please see the jobs that are posted on LinkedIn. Sales Engineer
      

I.             JOB DESCRIPTION: To create product demand by identifying new opportunities for Crowley Associates’ manufacturers at the customer level. Provide support to our Distribution Sales Manager and our distribution channel. The candidate will contact and follow-up with prospective clients. Once they discover the client's needs, they will discuss our product's technological capabilities and business value with the client. The ideal candidate should be able to clearly articulate highly technical concepts to all prospective clients.
 

II.            RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Expansion of market share through the sale of our principal’s products or services in a defined territory by generating profitable sales in new and existing accounts. 
  • Travel to customers to identify opportunities and create new business opportunities for our manufacturers.
  • Travel to customers with manufacturers, Field Application Engineers and distribution partners to promote Crowley Associates’ manufacturers.
  • Travel to customers at the request of Crowley Management, Product Marketing Manager, Product Line Manager, Distribution Sales Manager or New Business Development Manager in support of our manufacturers.
  • Proficient understanding of principal’s product offerings and applications.
  • Coordinate with the New Business Development Manager to cultivate new customers and expand product sales in existing customers. 
  • Utilize our CRM to manage customers and to close new business opportunities.
  • Work through customer issues to determine solutions and engage proper resources to resolve issues.
  • Attend technical trainings at our principal’s locations as requested by management.
  • Complete online training given by our manufacturers.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

III.             INTERPERSONAL SKILLS: This position requires customer and distributor-facing activities so candidates need to possess excellent communications skills. Market knowledge and the ability to make effective presentations are essential to advise customers in their selection process. Must be able to prioritize, multitask, and deal with pressure. Must have the ability to sell, persuade, influence and negotiate. Essential to have demonstrated the ability to build relationships at all levels of customers and suppliers. Ability to relate to design engineers across various applications required. Candidates must have a “team player” attitude and be able to efficiently and effectively handle shifting and multiple priorities.

                       

IV.             JOB REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Administration or Business Management.  A degree in electrical or mechanical engineering would be preferred. A degree in any other engineering discipline, physics or science may be acceptable with appropriate electrical engineering experience.

EXPERIENCE: Sales experience with account base development is required. Candidates with an understanding of the electronics market, a manufacturer’s representative firm and a distribution channel is preferred.

TRAVEL: Travel is mandatory to customers and distribution partners in the state of Massachusetts. The frequency of travel will be on an as needed basis or directed by Crowley Management. Candidates will also be obligated to travel to manufacturers for training. Travel to our office in Amherst NH will also be required from time to time.

V.             COMPUTER RELATED REQUIREMENTS: A laptop and other mobile devices will be provided by Crowley Associates. Crowley requires our employees to use Microsoft 365 Office Suite including Skype and video calls. Sales staff is required to use SalesLogix as our customer relationship management tool.

Product Line Manager

 

Inside Sales is responsible for performing all aspects of customer service and support for our customers, distributor partners and manufacturers and outside sales representatives.

Key areas of responsibility include providing quality customer/distributor support, promptly responding to customer requests and questions, issue resolution, sales support, CRM maintenance, collaborating with peers and the outside sales team and keeping product knowledge up-to-date.

 

Educational and experience requirements include:

  • Associate's degree or an equivalent level of training or experience
  • Relevant experience in a customer support or customer service role
    or an equivalent skill set
  • Strong computer skills and technical knowledge including Microsoft 365, and Skype
  • Proven ability to provide quality customer service support
  • Strong problem-solving ability
  • Strong customer service and people skills
  • Proven ability to resolve issues in a way that strengthens relationships
